Searching information on computers (Glossary)

 

1. database:
   A data store designed in an organised way, making it easier to search for the information you need.
2. keyword:
   An important word that will help return accurate search results.
3. query:
   A search or question performed inside a database.
4. search engine:
   A software tool to allow a user to look for information. This might be a web search engine, eg Google, Yahoo or Bing, or part of another computer program, eg an operating system.
5. sources:
   Where something came from originally.
